Tom Givens

Tom Givens is the owner and Lead Instructor of Rangemaster. For over 35 years he has trained security officers, law enforcement officers at every level, and foreign government agents. He was won IPSC and IDPA championships and holds a Master rating in 3 IDPA divisions. He is the author of 5 published textbooks plus over 100 magazine articles. He is certified as an expert witness on firearms and firearms training in both state and federal courts.

Marty Hayes

Marty Hayes is President and Founder of Armed Citizens' Legal Defense Network. He serves as an expert witness in self-defense cases. He is former law enforcement, a law school graduate, competitive shooter, and respected firearms instructor at every level. He is Director and Lead Instructor at The Firearms Academy of Seattle.

Kathy Jackson

Kathy Jackson is a Certified Rangemaster Instructor and Judicious Use of Deadly Force Instructor. She is an instructor at The Firearms Academy of Seattle and adjunct instructor for the Massad Ayoob Group. She is the author of The Cornered Cat: A Woman's Guide to Concealed Carry. Kathy is a returning instructor from Conference 2013.

Gabby Franco

Gabby Franco is an Olympic champion and IPSC competitive shooter. She was a contestant on Season 4 of the hit show Top Shot and Top Shot All Stars on the History Channel. She is an NRA firearms instructor and provides classes throughout the country.

Dianna Liedorff is the 2013 USPSA Ladies Open Multi-Gun National Champion. She was a "3 Gun Nation" Ladies Pro Tour finalist and holds many multigun High Lady titles. She is a 21-year veteran of the Tulsa Police Department serving assignments in Narcotics, Gangs, Street Crimes, and Patrol. She is a CLEET law enforcement firearms instructor and a board member for Armed Citizens United.


What You Can Expect

Participants will attend six to nine training sessions depending on the schedule of classes selected.  Sessions will include live fire instruction at the range in pistol, rifle & shotgun.   Indoor simulated training sessions held at the convention center will cover everything from the very basics of firearms safety and marksmanship as well as sessions to teach you how to effectively use gear and equipment for personal defense and/or shooting sports.  PLUS, you will hear from speakers on relevant topics for women on education, recreation and competition in today's shooting world.

Jr. Shooters age 13 and up are welcome to participate.  They must be registered in sessions with age-appropriate content and skill levels, and must be accompanied by a guardian at all times.

If your significant other is attending as part of our range staff, we will have special "dude only" activities on and off the range while you are enjoying your conference experience.

Speakers & Instructors

 

 

Annette Evans is often found on the range throughout the Eastern Pennsylvania area and competing in IDPA (SSP/SS), USPSA (Production/C), and Practical Rifle. She is passionate about coaching newer shooters, as an instructor, IDPA match director, and administrator. Annette is a returning instructor from Conference 2013.

 

 

Auristela Moctezuma is the owner of Stellar Tactical. A licensed Personal Protection Officer, Private Investigator, and NRA and Texas CHL firearms instructor, she has trained in Israeli Counter Terror Warfare – IPTT Basic Pistol, Urban Warfare Tactics, IDF Hand Cuffing, Israeli Tactical Knife Training (ITK), HaganaH, and Arnis Stick Fighting. She is also a Combat Fitness Coach and TRX Suspension Trainer. Stela is an IDPA RO and competitive shooter, and alumni instructor from Conference 2013.

    Austin Davis is the President of Kangaroo Carry Holsters, crime prevention/handgun instructor, former law enforcement officer, and dynamic public speaker. With a background as a professional stand-up comedian, Austin brings humor to serious subjects. He is passionate about crime training and personal fitness.
 

 

Caleb Causey is the owner and Director of Training for Lone Star Medics, a field and tactical medicine training company. He served as a U.S. Army Combat Medic with the 82nd Airborne and in the ER of the 212 MASH. He also experience as a civilian Firefighter/EMT as well as a tactical medic with rescue dive teams and SWAT teams. Caleb is a returning instructor from Conference 2013.

   

Cindy Love, aka "Shotglass," has been a Director for the Texas State Rifle Association's Cowboy Action Shooting for 3 years.  She is a life member of TSRA, the Single Action Shooting Society, and the National Rifle Association. She is the reigning Classic Cowgirl Champion for the SASS Texas State Championships.  Cindy participates in Cowboy Action Shooting events and fundraisers throughout Texas and the nation.

    Coni Brooks has had a distinguished career at Barnes Bullets Inc., a provider of premium reloading components and ammunition to the hunting, personal defense, military, and law enforcement industries. She was owner from 1974 to 2010 and now facilitates advertising. Along with being an avid hunter, Coni has served with the Utah Wildlife Board making critical decisions about wildlife and aquatics in the state. She is past-President of the Utah Chapter Safari Club and a member of numerous conservation groups.
    Diane Walls has trained with Massad Ayoob, Ken Hackathorn, Jim Cirillo, Chuck Taylor, Marc MacYoung, Gabe Suarez, Clint Smith, Tony Blauer, Rory Miller, and ITI/WSI's women's handgun/driving program. She is a 4th Dan Black Belt, Kaju Kenbo purpose sash, and teaches hand-to-hand for women at Firearms Academy Seattle. She is known for writing handgun reviews and training articles.

J.J. Schroeder is a Product Coordinator at Brownells, Inc., located in Montezuma, Iowa. As a technician and gunsmith, J.J. is a specialist in the AR-15 platform and the immense number of accessories, calibers, and configurations it has to offer. J.J. is a returning instructor from Conference 2013.

   

Jennie VanTuyl has built her firearms instruction career with knowledge from some of the best of the best in our industry: Massad Ayoob, Jim Cirillo, Tom Givens, and others. She is an instructor at the prestigious Firearms Academy of Seattle, an IDPA competitor, and Safety Officer. She also owns her gun store that specializes in outfitting women to ensure they have the right tools they need. Jennie is a returning instructor from Conference 2013.

   

Jennifer Langsdale is the EMS coordinator and firefighter/paramedic for Fort Hood Fire Department and provides First Aid/CPR training for law enforcement agencies on base. She is the Killeen TX facilitator and competes in cowboy action and IDPA competitions. She is an NRA Certified Instructor and Texas CHL Instructor, and owner of J&C Firearms Training.

   

Jessica Brooks-Stevens began working at Barnes Bullets when she was just 4 years old, shortly after her parents purchased the company. She has served in a variety of roles, including Production, Accounting, Ballistics Lab, Operations, Customer Service and PR. She is currently the Marketing & Product Manager. A lifelong shooter and hunter, Jessica is passionate about family, the outdoors, cooking, her horses, and Barnes.

Karl Rehn is the Founder and Lead Instructor at KR Training. His training includes courses by Tom Givens, Massad Ayoob, Robert Vogel, Max Michel, and others. He teaches advanced handgun skills to LEO and SWAT, and is EVP of the Texas Concealed Handgun Instructor Association. He is an NRA Training Counselor and Instructor. Karl is also a Master class competitive shooter in IPSC, IDPA, and Steel Challenge.

 

 

Lisa Looper is the owner and designer of Flashbang Holster, a revolutionary design that gives women more options to conceal carry. Her family's company, Looper Law Enforcement, has been making law enforcement and concealed carry gear for three generations.

  Lynn Givens   Lynn Givens is an instructor at Rangemaster and the Lead Instructor for the Ladies Training Program. Because of previous experiences with a stalker, Lynn works extensively with women facing similar problems. She was on featured on the cover of Concealed Carry Magazine and in At Home Tennessee magazine. Lynn has taken every course offered at Rangemaster and holds numerous certifications.

  Michele Byington   Michele Byington is an attorney with extensive civil and criminal trial experience as well as the pleasure of representing thousands of legal gun owners, including civilian, law enforcement and military personnel. Her firm, Texas Law Shield, is honored to serve numerous civilian firing ranges, firearms instructors, firearms publications, and federal firearms licensed dealers.
  Mike Hughes   Mike Hughes is the Founder/CEO of Next Level Training and inventor of the SIRT training pistol. A patent attorney, mechanical engineer, and an IPSC Grand Master shooter, Mike was a finalist on Season 3 of the hit show Top Shot on the History Channel. He is passionate about fitness and what he has termed “high volume, self diagnostic firearms training.”
  MJ Adamcik   Dr. Marijo "MJ" Adamcik is a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine and the Medical Division Manager at ROCKTAPE, a Kinesiology tape for professional and recreational athletes as endurance sport tape and tape to relieve pain. She is Certified in Fascial Movement Taping I and II is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer.
 

 

Nikki Turpeaux is the Owner/CEO and Lead Instructor of Archangel Tactical and Founder of the Get A G.R.I.P. Personal Defense & Firearms Training Program. She is an Ambassador in the 5.11 Tactical Training Alliance Program -- the first civilian and first woman in this position. Nikki is a handgun, shotgun, rifle instructor; public speaker; and author. She is a returning instructor from Conference 2013.

 

 

Dr. Penny Riggs is a competitor in Steel Challenge, 3 Gun, USPSA, and DCM Rifle. She is an Instructor at KR Training and holds numerous teaching certifications from the NRA and state/federal agencies. She has a PhD in molecular genetics and has worked on a DoD funded program on bioeffects of nonlethal weapons. Her writing been published in Front Sight, S.W.A.T., Women and Guns, and other journals.

 

 

Rhonda Esakov is the Youth Shooting Sports Program Coordinator for the Texas State Rifle Association. Through 4-H, Scouting, and other organizations, she works to foster opportunities for families and children to participate in introductory firearm safety and shooting sports programs. She is an NRA Training Counselor and a frequent women’s group presenter. She is a returning instructor from Conference 2013.

 

 

Tamara Shelley is a licensed Personal Protection Officer, Private Investigator, and self defense coach. She is a Certified NRA Instructor (Home Firearm Safety, Basic Pistol, First Steps Pistol and Refuse To Be a Victim), DPS-Certified Texas CHL Instructor, and Texas Hunter Education Instructor.She is a returning instructor from Conference 2013, where she taught the popular Shooting and Moving course.

Tracy Hughes

 

Tracy Hughes is the owner of Safety and Defense Solutions, a firearms training and consulting firm in the Greater Houston area. She is an NRA-certified firearms instructor, Texas Concealed Handgun instructor and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Emergency and Disaster Management. Tracy also owns Brilliant Backstraps, a company that adds a little sparkle to firearms.  She is a returning instructor from Conference 2013.

  Vic Fredlund   Vic Fredlund is co-owner of Diversified Defense, an Austin-based company providing firearms instruction and personal defense training, and has been teaching self-defense for over 10 years.  He is an instructor in the Haganah system, an Israeli tactical knife instructor, a 2nd degree Black Belt and instructor in TKD, and a Certified NRA Firearms instructor.
 

 

Vicki Kawelmacher is the Founder and CEO of The Women's Shooting Academy in Reno, NV.  She is an NRA instructor in multiple disciplines and a sought after public speaker. Vicki currently teaches more than 10 different classes ranging from lethal to non-lethal forms of personal protection. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from a women who is passionate about you! Host Range

This year our conference has expanded to the Waco Convention Center, reserving 6 meeting rooms plus an additional 15,000 sqft hall for us to host a mini-tradeshow and simulated training courses. The live-fire sessions will be at T.I.G.E.R. Valley, the premiere training facility in Central Texas. While they usually host military and law enforcement agencies, they are ready to be taken over again by the most awesome women in the country!
